Queer Asterisk launches Denver QTBIPOC Youth Intensive Outpatient Program

Queer Asterisk is excited to announce the Denver QTBIPOC Youth Intensive Outpatient Program to treat LGBTQ+ youth and BIPOC youth experiencing urgent mental health challenges and substance misuse impacts during a time of great environmental stress and risk, providing stability in an affirming environment and meaningful intervention at crisis points. The program is designed for queer, trans and/or BIPOC youth aged 12-17 seeking additional support beyond outpatient counseling. Those transitioning from a higher level of care such as residential treatment for depression, anxiety, and mood disorders may also be appropriate for our program.

The program is funded in part through a generous 3-year grant from Caring for Denver Foundation as part of the 2021 Youth funding initiative. We are excited to partner with Caring for Denver to launch this program, which is the first IOP in the nation dedicated to serving youth from an intentional queer, trans, and BIPOC lens.

The IOP is in active development and is anticipated to start this Summer 2021. Please sign up for our newsletter here for updated information. To contact us regarding the Intensive Outpatient Program, please submit an inquiry here.
